Best Time to Visit the USA

The USA is a vast country with very different climates, so the best time to visit depends on the regions you wish to explore. In general, spring and autumn offer the most comfortable weather, fewer crowds, and excellent conditions for sightseeing.

Northern USA: May to June and September to October

Late spring is one of the best times to explore the northern states. Temperatures are pleasant, landscapes are full of colour, and national parks are open for hiking and outdoor adventures without the peak summer crowds.

Autumn is another beautiful season, especially in New England and the mountain regions, when forests turn into spectacular shades of red, orange, and gold. Summers can be warm, while winters bring snow, making them ideal for winter activities but less convenient for general touring.

Southern USA: Spring and Autumn

The southern states are best enjoyed during spring and autumn when temperatures are warm but comfortable. These seasons are perfect for exploring national parks, historic cities, coastal areas, and scenic road trips.

Summer can be hot and humid, particularly in the southeast, while late summer may bring occasional hurricanes along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts.

Our recommendation

For a first-time visit, we recommend travelling between April and June or September and October. These months offer the perfect balance of pleasant weather, beautiful scenery, and a more relaxed travel experience.
